According to a blog post from DailyDOOH made on Monday, Out-of-Home advertising revenue rose 4.2% in 2013 from last year. Great news for myself and others in the industry naturally. In fact, this marks the 15th consecutive quarter of OOH growth. The key contributor to this is what? Simply put, digital development and innovation is the driving force behind this.
“The continuous expansion of digital platforms across OOH formats further enhances the ways in which OOH efficiently delivers the advertisers’ message to the consumer in today’s increasingly fragmented media environment,” says Stephen Freitas, OAAA chief marketing officer.
Unfortunately the OAAA does not break down the revenue attributed to static versus digital. However, the recent digital OOH innovations we’ve exhibited in the past couple of years pose a question. How long will it be before static becomes an after thought to digital OOH formats?
